Apple Store deleted the Blogger App!!!

Sunday 2 October 2016

How gutted am I?

So I've decided to come back to blogging and when wanting to download the blogger app I had, I realised it wasn't available anymore for download.

It was such a neat little app! So easy to use and great for on the go blogging! Now that I am a new mum it would have been easier to blog while feeding my little princess!

Anyways so after searching online, BLOGTOUCH was the only app that I found supported blogspot and blogger, so I thought I would give it a go. There's no reviews about it yet but let's see how it goes!

This one has some cool features I have to admit so I'll play around with it to see if it does any justice. Otherwise I will just have to post on my laptop and wait for the original app to come back to the store.

Anyone else use BLOGTOUCH?

Here I Go Again Apologising

Friday 3 June 2016

Well, what can I say? A thousand appologies again!!!

Again I haven't kept up to date with my posts. I can't believe that my last post was in February! That is really really bad! I deserve a smack on the hand.

I think I have just been so overwhelmed with the fact that my pregnancy has taken over me and that is all I have been concentrating on. I guess that working full time and shift work takes a lot of my time, and only having 2 days off sometimes doesn't help at all. There is always something I need to do, and I never get time to just sit down and concentrate on my blog.

At the moment we have builders in the house doing our airing cupboard! The airing cupboard we had was terrible with no place to put anything. Spacious but no space lol. We had a chest of drawers in our bedroom where we kept our bed linen and towels, but as baby's cot is now going next to our bed, we had to get rid of the chest of drawers due to no space.

Finally the towels and bed linen are going to have a new home. I can't wait to see the finished result. I have even bought scented drawer sheets from Crabtree & Evelyn. They smell is wonderful and leaves an amazing clean scent.

We have also had new windows put in the house. Well just in the kitchen and nursery. It's amazing how new windows make such a difference to a house.

The nursery... Nope we haven't sorted that out yet. At the moment it looks like a storage room. Everything we had in the airing cupboard is now in the nursery. Thank God the nursery furniture is only coming on Saturday! Otherwise we would have had no room to put everything!

I'm so excited for the nursery to be done! It's such an amazing feeling, preparing everything for a new arrival. It's funny how big the preparations are for something so small that is coming into this world. The amount of things that requires doing for a newborn, so that everything is perfect for when they arrive.

As soon as the nursery is done I will be posting pics up.

Who else is preparing the house for the arrival of their bundle of joy?

One Thousand Appologies

Friday 19 February 2016

Hello my lovelies

It's been a terrible week and only now (and I'm not 100%) have been able to write a bit here on my blog. Of course the post I'm writing is to appologise on my absence, but I have been so poorly and down with the flu that I haven't been able to get out bed at all.

Being pregnant and with the flu is not nice at all. The worse thing is the fact that I haven't been able to take anything of course. Before I would down two tablets of NUROFENE colds and flu... Now? It's nothing and let each day go by. Now mummies don't stress, it is perfectly normal that we get sick when we are preggy. Our baby takes away all our nutrients from our immune system so it is important that we keep hydrated and take our vitamins!

So it all started at work. That itchy feel you get in your throat. And then the shutting down of the body with aches, pains and shivers. Yup! And that day I was working till 10pm so really late. As soon as I got in, I had a glass of hot milk with lots of honey. It seemed to sooth my throat but oh boy, did I have a restless night. Basically, I didn't sleep a wink, I couldn't swallow during the night and my body was so achey, and I couldn't even breath!!!!!

The next morning I was bed bound! I called work who knew already I wasn't well from the day before. And I stayed home, in bed not being able to move a wink. My throat killed, my body killed and all I felt like was vomiting.

The only worry was our baby. I had to force myself to eat so that baby could get her nutrients but it was so difficult believe me. However my main focus was our baby. It's funny how we worry so much already.

I think I slept all day! Seriously all day. I put my phone on silent as I knew I would be getting calls from left right and centre. I remember waking up to 7 missed calls. All from mum, dad and cousin. It's nice to know family are always there.

I asked mum to make me the famous chicken soup which everyone swears by. Bless her, she did exactly that and said that she would bring it round in the evening.

Falling asleep again, I woke up feeling even worse and with a terrible pain in my chest. I was alone at home and even though I'm a positive person, I did worry. I tried calling my midwife but her phone was constantly off. My husband was still at work and I was alone in the house. No fear, calm I called 111 to seek further advice. Cameron, a very sweet guy I must say analysed me by asking my a dozen questions. My main worry was obviously baby, and this strange chest pain that would come and go. After checking me he told me I had to go to hospital within the next 6 hours and if I was able to do that. Of course I was! Now I was starting to get worried. He booked me in with a GP in the outpatients department on my local hospital which is 2 mins away by car. Thankfully!

I called my husband who was on his way home already and told him that we had an appointment with the GP to check me out. This was 19:30 at night. I also called work to tell them I was not going to be in for the next few days and that I was going into hospital to be checked.

Dragging myself out of bed to make myself at little bit presentable was a difficult task. But the funny thing is when you are now responsible for someone else, you just don't know where that extra bit of energy comes from. It's amazing!

We got to Hillingdon Hospital, and thankfully it was quiet. We still had to wait maybe 30 mins to be seen. There were a few 111 patients there too. Sat in the waiting room with my husband I just felt like I was going to pass out. I just wanted my bed. We got seen and the doctor who was extra nice checked me out from head to toe. Everything was ok. The pain in my chest was just the fact that I was congested. But main thing was that everything was ok with the baby. So yes, I had and still have a virus. It's not easy to clear up but it will eventually.

I got told that PARACETAMOL is ok to take when pregnant. 2 times a day only and not exceeding that amount. Lots of fluids and teas to wash out the virus. My husband dropped me off at home while he popped to the pharmacy to get me some bits. I went straight to bed! I couldn't even change into my pyjamas again but I did of course after a struggle. I think I was also lacking energy.

Dad then came round with mummy's chicken soup and lots of fruit. Bless their souls!!!! I managed to eat a bowl thankfully and went straight to bed. I think I fell asleep maybe in seconds. I didn't even hear my husband get into bed.

The next day, I woke up feeling awful still, had some tea, dry toast and fell straight back to sleep. That is all my body wanted. It's like I was in a coma! I just wanted the dark, and my bed! Had some soup when I woke up, and then back to bed! Oh it was awful.

The next day, mum came round to look after me and baby. She cleaned my house, and while I moved into the lounge on the sofa, she stripped our bed, washed, dried and ironed everything. Aired the whole house for me and made sure everything was fresh as a daisy.

I had a shower from head to toe which helps tremendously... It's as if you've taken a ton of toxins off you. Sleeping was great! I felt so much more calmer and relaxed.

It does help an awful lot when you change and clean everything. Airing  the house is another good thing to do. When you're stuck in bed with the windows closed, the bacteria and virus just lurk around. It's so important that you get fresh air!!

And that brings me to where I am now this second. Still in bed and still not 100%. I am getting better though as I do feel it, but I'm still struggling with a few things. It's normal us mummies getting sick. Our immune system is down as baby is taking all our nutrients away from us. Remember to drink plenty of fluids and keep hydrated. That is one of the most important things to do. We must keep ourselves and our baby hydrated.

I will be including a post on a home made tea that I have been drinking in the past few days. As us mummies can't take anything, this will sure help to keep those nasty virus' at bay.

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend mummies and stay safe out of the cold x

Any New Mums To Be Bloggers Out There?

Friday 29 January 2016

So I've been on the hunt for mummy bloggers just like me, in hope to find some lush reading. Of course I still like reading about beauty make up and lifestyle, but now with this new chapter in my life, I wanted to read anything that is to do with mummies to be and babies of course, and their views and opinons and it hasn't been easy.

All the blogs I have found are all of experienced mums. Don't get me wrong, they are fab, but I would love to find other bloggers who are also in the new chapter of their lives and who like sharing their experiences and views

Comment below if you know any bloggers who are in his new chapter

Looking For The Perfect Baby Changing Bag

As a first time mum to be, I haven't really started buying anything. I guess we are waiting to know the sex of the baby before diving into those gorgeous baby boutiques. There goes our wallet out the window!

But one of the things the I have been looking around for are changing bags. Trying to find the best one for me hasn't been easy at all. It's either the shape, the pattern, the material, the fussy pockets. Really, the only one I liked because of its shape was the Gucci Diaper Bag. What I didn't like was the price!

Now, don't judge or shoot me girls, I haven't gone out and splurged £730 on my credit card,  but just look at the simple shape of this changing bag. That is what I was looking for maybe lets say a good few months. I have to confess, I did go to the Gucci store to have a look at it, and really loved it, but kept saying to myself 'I'm going to find one exactly the same shape and a lot cheaper... a lot lot chaper'

Don't get me wrong, I think it's a lovely bag. I seriously do, and to be honest girls, it was going to be my very last resort if I couldn't find one I liked, but ONLY my last resort, and yes, it would kill me alive spending £730 on a changing bag. Thank God I have a husband who is always supportive of my crazy decisions.

And with all the searching and searching I found one which I fell in love with. My love for the Gucci changing bag went out the window! The same shape, no fuss, and way way much better, easy to clean and black to match the pram when we eventually buy one!

This gorgeous changing bag is from a fantastic company called Storksak and they specialise in baby changing bags. They have amazing bags in all types of designs, colours and materials to suit every mummy.

I bought the Storksak Poppy bag on their website yesterday after watching a fab review about it on YouTube. I can honestly say I fell in love with it immediately.

It comes with a changing mat and an extra little pouch for your bottles. So organised! Simply love it! I can't wait to receive it through the post! I'm so excited! Our bundle of joy's first present!

If you also love this diaper changing bag you can buy yours here for £89 at Storksak Poppy

You can also watch the Storksak Poppy bag review which I have linked below

Hope you love it as much as I do!

One Of My Favourite Parts Of Our House

Thursday 28 January 2016

I thought I'd share a photo that I recently posted on my Instagram which had a lot of response. The photo shows a part of our house which I love, especially when the sun is shining through.

This piece of gorgeous art is a handmade 3-dimensional art collage and hangs at the end of our staircase. It symbolises what my husband loves and what he does for a living. His love for cinema, film and video production.

We bought this piece in Portugal after our wedding. Let's say it was a wedding present to ourselves. We always love buying bits together for our love nest. Especially pieces which symbolise 'us' and this piece has my husbands name all over it

The collage is from a shop called A Loja Do Gato Preto. It is an amazing shop and we always say if we were to buy a place in Portugal we would definitely furnish the whole place with their pieces.

So as I was saying, the camera is not drawn, but a collage made up of magazine and newspaper cuttings. It's truly an amazing piece of work and so beautiful to admire. I sometimes find myself just reading the newspaper cuttings. It's so interesting to just look at. I feel like these is always a new cutting which I haven't seen before. Truly amazing.

Also, don't you just love box frames? I think they are great and really make the picture pop.

My Wedding Dress - PRONOVIAS IRUNE

Tuesday 26 January 2016

Hey my beautiful brides!

Wow, it's been ages since I last blogged. Really, since I got back from Portugal and was down with the wedding blues! That has all passed now! And I am back to my normal happy self!

Sorry I haven't been blogging recently. I keep telling myself that I will start to blog again, and then I don't get round to doing it. My friend Laura is much better at blogging and likes to keep to a strict regime, and she's very good at it! Check her blog out here Laura Thinks About

So I have decided to base this post on my wedding dress as I have been getting so many messages and emails asking me questions about it, so that's why I decided to do this post so that I could answer everyone's questions and doubts

Am I selling my wedding dress?

Unfortunately no. I actually don't have my wedding dress in London. The next day after the wedding, I took my dress to the dry cleaners to have it cleaned. The dress was a state as you all can imagine. Also, even if I wanted to sell my dress, I wouldn't as sadly, the bracelet I had on liked to snag on my dress towards the end of the night. So in a way it is ruined, but then again, I'm never going to wear it again. I was thinking of doing tailoring the dress knee length so that I could wear it in a future occasion, but because of the bracelet snags, I doubt anything can be done.

What undies did you wear with the dress?

This question got asked lots and I totally understand why. The IRUNE dress is tailor fit, skin tight, therefore getting the right undies was important. I actually wore undies from H&M. Very simple lace undies which you couldn't notice at all with the dress. And they only cost £3.99!!!

I initially wasn't going to buy the IRUNE dress (thats another story) and spent a fortune on another set of underwear which funny enough I still have in the box wrapped in tissue with the tags on. After changing my dress, I could no longer wear the set I had originally bought. I'm actually selling the set, so if any of you brides know of someone who needs brand new bridal underwear, get in contact.

Did you wear a bra?

For the top part ladies such as our bras... Because of the gorgeous low cut back that the IRUNE dress has, you can not wear any bras. The dress comes with support pads already tailored into the dress so that you have the support that you need. I'm not going to lie, I did look around for bodies with low back and a padded front, but no luck. Ultimo do a body but the reviews on it weren't great due to its comfyness, and believe me, the last thing you want is to feel uncomfortable in your dress on your wedding day. So I wore nothing!

Now what I did wear was tit tape. This assured me that nothing would escape, and also at the same time gave me the support I needed.

So my gorgeous brides, here were the top three questions I got asked. If you have any other doubts on the Irune dress, please let me know. Comment, tweet or send me an email and I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Much love x
